South Sudan

Unfortunately, this underdevelopment also affects the education system. According to the CIA Wordfactbook, only 1% of the gross national product is invested in education. This ranks South Sudan 168th in the world. Also from a global perspective, South Sudan has the fewest children in school and the lowest literacy rate among girls. To give children the chance of an education, we build or support schools or finance school attendance. This commitment is often accompanied by development aid that benefits not only the children but also the entire village community. This includes, for example, the construction of wells.

The Christian churches in the region also need help: the growing congregations and church plants urgently need competent staff. That's why ACP invests heavily in their training.
