Loosening under high voltage

MALI
The health and security situation in Mali is very slowly calming down. The authorities have authorized the reopening of schools from June 2 under strict hygiene regulations, at least for classes affected by important end-of-cycle exams.

The school in Katibougou supported by AVC immediately took the necessary measures to resume school operations and allow the affected students to prepare for the upcoming exams. All teachers showed up for work and the authorities even came to visit the school center.

However, instability in Mali remains. Demonstrations involving two influential imams have brought thousands of people to the streets of the capital to demand the president's resignation. Mali has seen 1547 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 92 deaths. Health officials are concerned about such gatherings and fear further spread of the virus.
