Hope After a Hurricane
Hurricane Melissa hit Cuba with full force, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. Entire regions have been destroyed, houses rendered uninhabitable, and infrastructure collapsed in many places. The natural disaster has not only caused material damage, but also deep emotional wounds. Many people are left with nothing—no electricity, no clean water, and no prospects for the future.
Despite this dramatic situation, there is an impressive show of solidarity. Neighbors are sharing the little they have left. Our local partners are part of this movement. They are not only providing practical help, but also bringing a message that goes beyond the visible. Instead of asking why, they are looking for the purpose. Even if answers cannot always be found, an openness to the gospel is growing in the midst of the hardship. Perhaps that is part of the answer.
