Albania

The disparity between urban and rural areas is immense. You can find beautiful boulevards and restaurants in the touristy coastal area, while precarious conditions prevail in the villages. Families suffer from the abuse of alcohol and drugs and from corruption. Elderly people are forgotten by their relatives abroad and can barely make ends meet on their small pensions.

MORE THAN DAY CARE
Around 90 children and their families are cared for in the Nishtulla Roma district. The children receive hot meals, homework help, attend summer camps and hear about the Good News. Currently, the second generation of the neighborhood already attends the daycare center. This long and persistent work is bearing fruit: Nishtulla has an increasingly good reputation and the positive effects on the population are more and more visible.
TANGIBLE EMERGENCY AID
Many families in rural areas suffer from broken homes. Time and again, parents leave the rest of the family stranded. The income is barely enough for daily living - as soon as a medical emergency or a leak in the roof comes along, the situation becomes precarious. Our partners help with food parcels, medical support and very practical help where it is needed.
